Mike started his lighting career reverse-commuting from a shoebox apartment in Manhattan to Philips Lighting in Somerset, NJ after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Boston University in 2012. Part of the first generation of lighting professionals who would be taught about LED before incandescent technology, and faced immediately with the challenges of disrupting a century-old business, Mike learned how to help people embrace change by understanding their problems and taking ownership over providing the solution.

Prior to co-founding City Lighting, Mike served as Vice President of Specification Sales for The Lighting Group where he first began servicing New York’s great design community and delivering Lighting & Controls solutions for the world’s largest corporations and real estate developers who call this city home.
